POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Systems Architect (SSA) with extensive experience in systems engineering across the lifecycle with an emphasis on requirements engineering and management of complex systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in the oil and gas (O&G) industry with domain knowledge in a particular sector Upstream, Downstream, Midstream. While specific O&G experience is not required the candidate will be expected to quickly learn the industry and related systems, interfaces, and dynamic interactions.
The SSA will work alongside other STRATA Architects, Engineers, and Project Manager as well as customer subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure systems engineering deliverables are completed within the project schedule. The SSA will be expected to take a key leadership role helping to guide and mentor internal and STRATA employees as well as customer SMEs in systems engineering best practices. The SSA will be expected to take a predictive and proactive approach in identifying and mitigating risks and conflicts. The SSA will be among the key leaders in the organization driving strategic growth, setting direction, and ensuring the overall success of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead team in systems engineering and digital transformation initiatives within the oil and gas industry
- Take on and lead various adjacent initiatives, for example industry standards overlay approach, verification approach, end-to-end life cycle approach, etc.
- Develop and implement RM tool architecture configurations to accomplish various use cases
- Analyze complex sets of technical requirements documents of varying levels of quality to recommend architecture improvements
- Lead team to analyze and restructure existing requirements to be compliant with INCOSE standards and EARS guidelines
- Lead teams of Systems Engineers to collaboratively work with customer SMEs to revolutionize customer technical documents, SW tools and processes.
- Support the team to assess and improve requirements quality leveraging the Requirements Management Tool
- Provide strategic insight and big picture thinking to STRATA leadership

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering field
- Master’s degree in systems engineering
- INCOSE CSEP Certification
- 10 to 15 years’ engineering experience
- 10 years’ experience in working on complex systems development
- 10 years’ experience with project and product life cycle in development of complex systems
- 10 years’ experience with system architectures and associated metadata
- 10 years’ experience in requirements engineering and management
- 10 years’ experience with systems or sub systems decomposition and specifications
- 5 years’ experience with systems architectures
- 5 years’ experience with requirements management tools and traceability
- 5 years’ experience leading teams (both system engineers as well as non-system engineers)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctoral degree in engineering field or MBA
- INCOSE ESEP Certification
- PMI PMP or Agile Certification
- Experience with model based systems engineering (MBSE)
- Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
- Experience as Administrator of Requirements Management Tools (e.g., DNG, Jama, Codebeamer, Polarian)
- Experience with Requirements Quality tools (QVScribe, Reuse Co, Requirements Advisor)
- Developing scripts to automate workflows (e.g., python or VBA)
- Developing data visualizations (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau)
- Working with a Project Management to inform project schedules, critical path, resources allocation
- Experience in consulting role with various stakeholders and conflicting priorities
- Applying INCOSE standards (NRM, GtWR, SE Handbook)
- Applying requirements templates (e.g., EARS, GtWR)
- Interpreting and conforming to industry standards (e.g., API, ISO, ASME, SAE)

LOCATION
- This position is located in Spring, TX
- Candidate will be able to work a hybrid schedule (remote and in office 3-4 days a week)
