POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a junior systems engineer (SE) with experience in requirements engineering and management of complex systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in the oil and gas industry with domain knowledge in a particular sector Upstream, Downstream, Midstream. The SE will work alongside other engineers and the project manager to ensure deliverables are completed within the project schedule. The SE will be proactive and help the team identify and mitigate conflicts before they arrive.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist team in digital transformation initiatives within the oil and gas industry
- Analyze and rework existing requirements to be compliant with INCOSE standards and EARS guidelines
- Assess and improve requirements quality and maintain updates in Requirements Management Tool
- Ability to adhere to tight project deadlines
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Experience in working on complex systems development
- Experience with product life cycle of complex systems
- Experience with system architectures and requirements metadata
- Requirements Engineering and Management
- Experience with systems or sub systems decomposition and specifications
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in engineering, ideally systems engineering
- INCOSE Certification (e.g., ASEP or CSEP)
- Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
- Leveraging Requirements Management tool (e.g., DNG, Doors, Jama)
- Leveraging Requirements Quality tools (QVScribe, Reuse Co, Requirements Advisor)
- Developing scripts to automate workflows (e.g., python or VBA)
- Developing data visualization (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau)
- Working with a PM to inform project schedules, critical path, resources allocation
- Applying INCOSE standards
- Applying requirements templates (e.g., EARS)
- Interpreting and conforming to industry standards (e.g., API, ISO)
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Proficient in Technical writing
- Self-motivated able to work in a team environment
- Must be capable of working with limited direct supervision
- Flexible to work on assignments based on the needs of the customer
LOCATION
- This position is located in Houston, TX
- Candidate will be able to work a hybrid schedule (remote and in office 3-4 days a week)
